Three recruits are slated to visit this Saturday when Cal comes to Autzen for the PAC-12 opener:
Michiah Quick WR 6' 170 Fresno CA
Henry Mondeaux, DE 6'4" 240, Portland, OR
Tony James, APB 5'10" 175 Gainesville FL (pictured)
Others may join them, but that's the visit list so far.
Quick is a 4-star receiver and defensive back from Central East High. Explosive with great body control and electrifying moves after the catch, he ran a 4.5 40 at The Opening in July. In addition to Oregon he has visits scheduled to Alabama, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. He visited Cal two weeks ago, also holding offers from USC, UCLA, Arizona State and Washington among others.
He's a go-the-distance talent running back kicks, catching the bubble screen or playing pass defense.
Mondeaux is a local product, a tight end/defensive end from Portland's Jesuit High. At 6-5, 252 he has a 31.3 inch vertical leap. The 3-star prospect has ten offers including Washington, Cal, Oregon State and Nebraska. Strong and athletic, Mondeaux is mobile enough to play linebacker and be a deep threat for his high school team. The Ducks like his agility for the defensive line.
James, profiled previously in this space, is a speedy, versatile all-purpose back with 10.52 speed in the 100 meters.
Mondeaux is much closer to 6'5, 250 as listed.... I saw him a few weeks ago up close.
I think the Bears are in for a rude awakening come Saturday night.
Wow Quick is fast! I tried to stay away from the Cliff Harris connection but his pick 6 was instant flashback to the Tennessee game at Neyland. He really seems to have some break away speed. I am positiive Oregon is going to land one of these speedsters (James, Quick, etc). Guess we will have to wait and see who claims their spot on this elite roster of Ducks. I crunched the numbers earlier on our history of commits by month so if our patterns hold true then we should pick up 1-2 commits and November the flood gates should start to open.
It's time for more recruits to sign up and these three look great! They should be impressed with Autzen, the crowd, the team and the game. This will not be like the recent USC at home playing and losing to Washington State with 7 top potential recruits fo USC at the game listening to the crowd chant "Fire Kiffen".
@lexusduck He's a big , strong kid, very promising. Ducks look to be ready--it's a matchup that plays into their strengths. It's funny how often shootouts don't materialize.
@SonomaDuck Much better experience in Autzen. Top recruits like Adoree' Jackson and Juju Smith were at that game.
