After throwing a conference-record 265 passes without an interception over his last ten games and accounting for 28 touchdowns this season, Marcus Mariota has risen to #1 in Heisman Pundit Straw Poll and #1 in the si.com mock draft. Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger are coming to town, and ESPN Game Day features the Ducks for the 8th time overall and the fifth time in five years, the first time in the show's history that's happened.
Oregon football is hot, nationally known, nationally recognized and ready for the extreme close-up. Enjoy this year, because next season there will be a natural retraction: the Ducks will have a first-year starter at quarterback, lose a first-round draft pick in the secondary and 12 senior starters who embodied the Oregon Way. The wins will come harder. Downtrodden opponents will line up for an attempt at payback. 10-2 will be a very good year.
Clear eyes, full hearts, rarely loses: Marcus Mariota signals touchdown. He does that a lot. This season he's running an offense that's beating opponents by an average of 40 points a game, but what happens when he leaves?
This isn't the Ducks' last chance to contend for a national title, but it's the best one. UCLA comes to town Saturday a battered football team that's played 17 true freshmen and started six of them. They're talented but young in critical areas, wounded along the offensive line. Oregon runs the football better (7.05 yards per attempt to 4.6) and defenses the run more effectively (3.25 to 3.47).
The Ducks will make it to Palo Alto 8-0, and the rest is up to history in a classic matchup of speed versus power, innovation and flash versus old school Smash Mouth. The Cardinal visit Corvallis this weekend, a game that will expose one team as an illusion and a pretender; it's Oregon State's first game against a ranked team.
There's a lot of brave talk about Jeff Lockie as next year's quarterback. Lockie's not the gifted heir to Mariota. He's a game manager rather than an incandescent talent, smaller and slower, a redshirt freshman who's thrown 11 passes and run the football four times, no touchdowns, one interception through the air, an 8-run run for a score against Nicholls State. That's a slim resume from someone who doesn't have the wow factor or the acceleration to replace the best quarterback in school history. The Ducks take a step back without Mariota. It's a much bigger loss than replacing LaMichael James or finding a new defensive tackle.
The day Super Mario declares for the NFL draft, the Ducks are rebuilding without a franchise quarterback. They can still win games, but it will be harder and in a different way. These next two games are the culmination of a five-year rise to the summit of college football. For the players, it's Bruins Come Saturday, one opponent and one game. For long-time fans, it's a two-week reckoning on a dream.
I agree with this completely. There are so many three-year-eligible players besides the 12 seniors and hard to see why most of them won't go including Grassu, Johnstone, and Fisher to decimate the OL alongside seniors Grieg and Benyard and Kerrington. The window is narrow and can close fast; praying that it won't come down to a field goal. But no team has ever gone 13-0 without that one or two close games, not to mention 14-0 which is what it will take to be NC.
Every year we talk about the reshirts playing at the end of blowouts and forget it's all watered down time. I've always thought we should let them play at the speed they practice "like wazzu" does till the final whistle with its regulars. Having a little class we let off the gas, so be it! We forget there are others redshirting we've forgotten about...not enough space to list them all who are playing minuets now! The QB to watch is the Cedar Hills TX kid "Hobbs" YouTube him and you'll see a spread star QB of the future IMO! Projecting most positions is really hard...players come and go for various reasones and the line up on the field is half of what most of geniuses projected. It's all about next man up and we say "oh yeah that guy...I said he'd be good"lol:) he is a redshirt sophmore got hurt and sat out! Here's hoping to see a natty in 2014...without the guy who coined it! Look at how many guys we had move on or get injured and we keep getting W's...years ago we'd all be saying what if? We use to say that a lot Duck fans! We were starters deep only if that! Game day comes again and we expect it....we've gotten use to diving the shining car and dating the prom queen! They use to give us butterflies and we said "better enjoy it...it's gonna be awhile until we get a kiss again"! Oh look the car is in the driveway and she's making me breakfast again:) thanks glad to see you again! Go Ducks WTD...thanks uncle Phil and aunt Penny!
Mario'ta will stay for at least one more year. The new franchise QB will shake out between Alie, Hobbs, Lockie, Mahalak, and Rodriguez later or sooner. This is a CFB juggernaut in progress risen from the wetlands.
Also, for the sake of facts.. I've been saying Kiper ranked Mariota second, and It's actually McShay. My apologies.
why do you assume that the oregon state - stanford game is going to necessarily expose a pretender?? Couldn't they both be near equals and play a 12 round great game that goes to the wire and although one team wins only proves that they are two near equally very good teams?? I could easily see that happening there, Although, I expect the beavers to beat the tree because o state is very good and can score, and I do not think stanfords offense can match them when its all said and one.
@DanR13 This is a red-letter day. Someone agrees with me :). Hopefully the Ducks can make the most of this opportunity. Their focus appears to be excellent.
@DennisDucks Hobbs is a good athlete but haven't seen enough of him to evaluate him as a passer. Oregon has proven over the last few years that the offense can be effective with a variety of styles at quarterback, Dixon, Masoli, Thomas, but Mariota has the best sklll set for the offense of any quarterback they've had. The quarterback competition that follows him will be interesting to watch.
@DuckDucks DD. Thanks for your post, but I'm not following...can you please elaborate?
@Dale Newton but as Treebill will point out his completion % has been below 70 this year. I say bench him because Lockie has been called a stud in practice. I keed!
@sozeduck First herbstreit isn't there or anywhere to be your friend,, and second he doesn't exist to be a duck cheerleader. The guy is being honest about his opinion of things based on the games that have been played and how he sees them. He is telling you his opinion based on the play on the field with respect to all the teams involved. Third, I think he and I see things fairly similarly. I also thought that before last week, that the ducks had shown to that point to be the best team SO FAR! NOT finished set in stone and unable to change. No, up to that point he like me thought the ducks seem to be the most complete team, the best team. But, last week shed a whole new light, YES IT DID, Now all the koolaide drinking cheerleader ypes of which many who visit this blog are, DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY CRITICISMS!! NOTHING BUT PRAISE, FAWNING, AND OTHER BS THAT PRESUPPOSES INTELLIGENT ANALYSIS. But some of us ducks fans don't buy that crap. We will tell it like it is, from a hard cold look, because we only care about the truth. We don't care about the opinions of homers and cheerleaders with thin skin and even thinner minds to understand football. Or to opinions that come from such shallowness, that can't tolerate anything but blind allegiance and hero worshipping at the alter. Most teams blog sites are dominated by such uselessness and ridiculousness. Alabama, though despised for many good reasons, is showing itself again as a strong force, dominating force. As is FSU too. The ducks are very good too, and we will find out how good before the end. BUT, right now the ducks are less impressive a force than either Alabama or fsu. And I am biased towards the ducks simply because I am a duck fan, but not to the point that I can't see, that I am blinded, that I can't tell you the truth, or look with the eye of a neutral observer of the sport. Herbstreet is telling it like he sees it, and I agree, And Herbstreet likes the ducks, he is not part of a conspiracy against the ducks that ridiculous duck fans become as petulant children throwing a fit like to imagine. Time for the childish petty shallow duck fans to grow up and realize that reality is much more interesting to examine than fantasies. That if you actually want your team to reach the top, then the reality is what needs to be seen. so that whatever is stopping your team from actually reaching the top can be addressed, not covered up with hubris that demands fluffy accolades and never say a word that isn't of puffy ego flattering feel goodyness. If that sounds like you, it probably is, And if it is, time to grow up. If it isn't you, then you are laughing right now with some degree of humor and humility. If you are angry at all, someone has to tell you, and I am happy to oblige!!
@Sozeduck: Wow the epitome of the 'woe is me' Oregon fan just walked in. Herbstreit's job is not to be a friend to any program, it is to give his opinion and also report the facts. The fact is that right now, there are three teams with a good chance to go to the title game if everybody wins all their games. Herbie has also said in no uncertain terms that if Oregon wins out, they will be no worse than #2. I don't see how him reporting the situation while mixing in his opinion is not being a friend, something he isn't supposed to be anyway.
Your assertion that east coasters will see FSU's schedule as enough to put them in the BCS in incorrect, as the majority of them still have us ahead of FSU in the polls. If the Clemson win didn't change that, nothing will. As for the Pac-12 title game, it doesn't matter who we play - our SOS by that point will be good enough to put us in the top 3 in the computers, and along with the #2 rankings in both human polls, that will be enough to put us in the big game.
@sozeduck Soze--you make an important point about the PAC-12's tendency to devour its young. The 9-game conference schedule takes its toll on the conference's overall resume, one extra league matchup when our friends down south are playing Coastal Carolina and padding theirs.
@Duckbill Good post DB. Lockie gets a bad rap because he's taking a back seat to Mariota, which most people assume means he's not very good. It just means that Mariota is better. This year.
Like you, I believe the Ducks will be just fine next season, and the season after that. They graduate people every year or lose them to the draft. The next man up is generally impressive, and the results seem to be very similar. I think we should all judge next year's team by their accomplishments on the field, rather than by the thoughts in our head.
One thing I have wondered about... This is the last team fully assembled by the mind of Chip Kelly. Something I do not know yet and have no way of discerning at this point is, can The Helf and Co continue to recruit the same level of talent and character? I'd argue that it is the character of this 2013 team that makes it special, just as much as the talent. We'll see.
Starting to notice more and more of that here lately,, kinda getting silly and ridiculous ,, oh well, least it has no bearing on the truth or the reality of the games or players.
@nyduck you're seriously picking the Beavers? LOL They suck, all they do is throw the ball 60 times like WSU. They have ZERO running game, their Defense is average and they DO NOT HAVE A QUALITY WIN. Beating SDSU, Hawaii, WSU, Cal etc. means nothing. That said Mannion to Cookies has been nice. HOWEVER, I fully intend The Tree to destroy them.
@nyduck Because it's my job to have opinions and describe how I see the games. I sign my name to every one of them, and back them all up with 60 hours a week of research, statistics and investigation. 70,000 people a month stop by to read, observe and offer their reactions. It's a blog about college football, written from a specific perspective by a specific person. I'm here all week. If I'm wrong about OSU and Stanford I'll reevaluate on Sunday.
@Dale Newton @DennisDucks The quarterback competition to follow will be between a couple of guys with an extra year or two of knowledge and experience, a true freshman, and lots of burning desire. There may indeed be a better QB than Mariota, we just haven't seen one yet.
I'm resigned to watching, waiting, and enjoying each new iteration of these Ducks. They have not let me down in more than 30 years of being a fan, no matter what their win/loss record is, and I doubt they will any time soon.
It certainly ain't like being a fan of the Cubs. Now THOSE people have problems...
@nyduck First things first, learn to use the enter key. Walls of text are hard to read and annoying, especially when you ramble.
Second, can you please stop calling out people for being Duck fans? Seriously NY, this is a FAN BLOG SITE and the people who come here are fans. They're not Herbstreit. They're not Mussburger. They're not Ted Miller or Canzano or Jason Quick. Please do not hold them to that standard. They do not deserve your wrath for stating an admittedly biased love for the Oregon Ducks.
Lastly, it is time to grow up. For you. I understand your viewpoint without the rambling rants and the ridiculous, paranoid name calling bit at the end of your post. I can deal with your opinions and your facts, but seriously man, go troll the tidestopshere website for a while. When they also hand you your ass for your over-arching generalizations and unabashed name calling diatribes, maybe you'll see that it isn't just us.
Go Ducks! Win The Day.
First things first. Stop calling people cheerleaders for thinking the Ducks are the best. If we're cheerleaders, and our pom poms are Green and yellow, yours are crimson. All you've done the past two weeks is praise Bama and FSU, and tear down the Ducks. THATS IT.
Secondly, If your idea of 'Telling it like it is' is making claims without a single SHRED of evidence based research then you're no better than the drunk guy at the bar that everyone knows loves to talk but never has anything to back it up. Over and over and over again I asked you for something, anything to prove your point, and you repeatedly dodged me, saying you didn't have time.
The people who get paid to analyze and dissect the games and players of all of college football seem to think that Oregon is a pretty legitimate team. They also seem to think that Marcus is a pretty Legitimate QB, ask Kiper about that one.
Nobody here is in fantasy land when they imagine the Ducks being at the top of the sport. Because right now, they are there right along with Alabama and FSU and Ohio State. Not just in terms of on the field prowess either. Their system, their style, their marketing. All of it combined into one ball of Nike outfitted glory. The Ducks are a national brand right now. When Nike took over the NFL uniforms rights from Reebok, they had an enormous display in the Nike store in Las Vegas. Right next to that display, was an entire section dedicated to none other than the Oregon Ducks.
Look I get it man. You think the Ducks aren't perfect. And I agree. There is always something to work on. They have been playing at such a high level that we as fans get so Jaded that when they don't score on every possession we're pissed off. But to sit here, calling other duck fans cheerleaders for thinking their team is the best, and to think yourself above them because you think FSU and Bama are much better is ridiculous. If you want to preach about Duck weakness, and Bama superiority, tidestopshere.com would love to have it. But don't be a troll to duck fans for being exactly that, FANS.
@WallyBalls It's going to be interesting to see how it shakes out. All the Ducks can do is keep winning, and that's challenge enough.
@sozeduck lol I'm glad I'm not going crazy and someone else sees what I see, or doesn't see in Lockie. Apparently treebill has a backstage pass to practice where he's had intimate convos with coast Frostie regarding Lockie. UMM YEAH I don't see talent in the guy, I'm sorry. Not the talent to be a triggerman for the best offense in the NATION. I don't care what he does in practice, how many stars he was rated etc. When MM was still in High school I told myself this was the PERFECT Ducks QB. I liked DT over Costa, and Dix over Leaf.
I LOVED what I saw from Hobbs on film, his skill/speed stands out to me and he's 225 with a year of studying under his belt. I'm not saying Lockie is terrible but as of today we are in trouble if he gets the keys next season. We can do better.
@Duckbill Testing 1,2,3 do you think the Ducks are physical? Grasu, Jake Fisher, Taylor Hart, Wade K, all of Deforest freaking Buckner, Bolo.......I mean c'mon this is NOT a finesse team imo, do you agree?
@Duckbill @nyduck The Washington game also showed how much poise the team as a whole had and responded to adversity with true grit and perseverance. Nobody here has given Marcus or the Ducks anything. But most people here are more confident than both of you are in the Ducks. That's not a bash, nor is it wrong on your part to have that opinion, it's merely and observation. Kiper released his new top 32 today. I can tell you how the top two pan out according to him, Clowney, then Mariota. A lot of people are recognizing his talents.
oh wow!! really!!?? oh, oh, now i get it!! its your job!! i see,, lol!! You see the game as going to yield out a pretender, but can;t see that the game might be razor close and yield no pretender either way. Ok, now Iget it!! lol.. so lets see, then if you are so sure their is goinf to be a pretender borne out,, then which side do you have the OPINIOn that is most likely, most probably going to be found out as the pretender!!,, that would have been useful in making your opinion have some sense to it! ..No??!!,,lol.
@sozeduck @nyduck id tell you to get your head out of your ass,, but I can see that's all thats there!!,, so,, better you get that 'gooey duck' outta your mouth before you suck it dry and it comes all over you,, but as long as you got your mind in the hick sticks gutter, little too much green liquid on your brain. Show us your brilliance again!
btw:funny how you assume you know where i live...:))
I write a long, well thought out, evidence-based response, devoid of any sort of insulting or rude comments, to your also long and well thought out (although not evidence based) argument.
And you respond by saying, "You're a child, whiny child, yucky whiny child." and mocking me.
@nyduck @Mahunashizzle @sozeduck I don't use an alias. I sign my name to everything I write, and my profile and picture are here also. You can follow me on Twitter @DSH_Newton, reach me by email at email@example.com, or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/dale.newton3. I don't have any trouble speaking for myself.
@Duckbill @zduckfan I am excited by what The Helf has been able to accomplish in the last 10 months as the head coach, and figure he had a large impact on recruiting towards the end of last season as well. The writing had to be on the wall after the Tampa Bay episode.
I'm in the MM stays camp. It would not surprise me if he did move on, but I can't see a kid of his character dropping out. If I were counseling him, knowing what you and I know to be true about the offensive linemen leaving town, I'd say go while his stock is high. There's no reason to lose millions of dollars like Locker, Barkley, etc. did.
As for the next Oregon QB, I'll leave that up to the coaching staff and the spring competition. I like Lockie. I like J-Rod. If I said anything negative about either of them, it would have to be with the huge caveat that neither has practiced or played any amount of time with the ones.
Look what the loss of one starting lineman did for MM last week. Two fumbles, a bunch of hurries, and a lot of time running outside of the pocket. Too much of that and MM won't look quite as good as he does right now, which is a testament to just how special our linemen really are.
@lexusduck @sozeduck Hey I was gonna say let's not sleep on Hobbs! Honestly, and obviously this is based on HS film which most Division 1 caliber players look all world in, but he reminds me of, dare I say it, Braxton Miller. Just in terms of body style and running ability with the ability to throw the ball.
@Duckbill @lexusduck Just because they run a zone scheme doesn't mean they're finesse. They've been consistently near the nation's best in rushing for quite some time now. You cannot do that without being physical up front. Misdirection only gets you so far in any level. This is a physical group of dudes that like to play with a little nastiness.
lol I understand their blocking schemes bitch. Did you ever play? Be honest. I know you're a 5'5 nerd with glasses sitting behind the computer who never played that's what makes this funny to me. I would bet money you've never played a down.
@Duckbill @lexusduck Stanford has head hunters.. But the team overall is filled with Sure Tacklers and not big hitters. Skov is the rare exception and example of both powerful hitting missed with wrap up tackling.
Also I think the Ducks stood up to the Huskies the whole game, and not just in the second half. Remember now the ducks never trailed in that game, and answered every time they were punched in the mouth by a physical Husky team.
@Duckbill @Mahunashizzle @nyduck I don't think I'm being brash, nor do I think the people from the Mothership (ESPN) or anybody here being brash when they believe the Ducks are very much in contention to win the Crystal Ball.
I understand your take, that Marcus has yet to be beat up in a game, and that they havent really been tested, but I disagree.
I think every game is a test. Every team has the potential to lose, and every team has the potential to win. Vandy with a back up QB over UGA is a good example. The Ducks have been that much better than the competition this season and it has showed.
Marcus is a smart player. He doesn't take hit when he can avoid it and thats why you havent seen him get hit all that much, even when he's running in the open field. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the same way, they understand that the key to longevity in a contact sport is simply not to make contact when you don't have to. Marcus understands that, just like most of the QB's in the Chip Era, I say most because obviously a guy like Masoli loves to risk neck injuries and everything running with his head DOWN lol
@Mahunashizzle lol nyduck and I have our history as well. He's very opinionated lol ill leave it at that
@lexusduck Come join me at the kid's table lexusduck.. It's where we belong apparently. Haha
@nyduck what does ynwrt mean, you're not worth responding to? lol
@Dale Newton @nyduck I see a steadily improving Oregon state team, that is increasingly impressing me. Offensively they are becoming a force. and not a slouch defensively either. A team that wasn't ready to play yet in game one, clearly. But that right now is no resemblance to thee team they were in week 1. A team that may be the toughest opponent that Oregon faces in the regular season when it is all said and done, And not simply because they are the in state rival. I will not be surprised if they win by 2 or 3 touchdowns on Saturday night. Whereas if Stanford does defeat the beavers it will only be the slimmest of margins, That is my expectations.
@nyduck You should slow down when you type...
@nyduck Oregon State can't run the football and will have trouble with the Stanford running game, in my view. I think Stanford succeeds in controlling the line of scrimmage and pressuring Mannion into some mistakes.
I've always wanted to try a beer on a nitro tap! I've heard its amazingly smooth and almost creamy. I liked the boneyard a lot. But I was at holas, the best mexican place I've been to in my opinion, and I was having boneyard in between gran cuerso margaritas. Haha
@Mahunashizzle Mirror Pond is my favorite.
I cannot pretend to know a a whole lot about the various beers and I havent had the pleasure of trying those. Although I must admit I am a very big fan of the Chain Breaker and Mirror Pond from Deschutes.
Also I went to Bend a while back and had 10 Barrell's Apocalypse which again was pretty damn good and Bone Yard during that same span.
I must admit I wasn't really a huge fan of the Total Domination by Ninkasi but would be willing to give them another shot with the Tricerahops.
Like I said I don't know a whole lot about beers other than what tastes good to me and what doesn't. Haha but when it comes to drinking beer, it better be good beer, because I'd rather stay away from the diluted horse piss like bud light and those types. If I'm gonna drink anything its gonna be either a good beer, Jack and Ginger, 7 & 7, or Captain and Coke.. That's essentially it for the Big Mahuna haha
@Mahunashizzle Terminator Stout, without a doubt! IF ONLY they had a McMenamins in Glendale.... *sigh*
@Dale Newton nyduck aka Metta World Peace gets the BOOT! so funny! Love how nyduck talks like he kept the blog going on his own.
I wont apologize for my comments yesterday but I also know when to stop talking. Dale, maybe you should begin suspending people for their comments? Example- if you feel a commenter is abusive they get a 1-week suspension? Just a thought, things have really spiraled this last week, taking sides etc. Reminds me of 6th graders out at the park lol and they say the NW doesn't have passion like the South!?
backhanded compliments by duckbill nice lol, even when you're trying to be positive you find a way to sound negative.
Haha well played duckbill. Well played.
If that were the case, and the lot of us were enjoying a duck game in front of, say, and 80 inch tv somewhere. Which Microbrew would be in your hand?
@nyduck More name-calling and some wildly inaccurate shots at Oregon fans and the intent of this blog. You are abusive and rude, and if you never posted here again, it would be a blessing.
You live in a perpetual fantasy land where examples of your imagined slights are not needed even when they are asked for. Have fun on Oregonlive and nolestopshere.com.
@Dale Newton @nyduck @lexusduck get off your high horse holier than thou double standard bs trip. I watched as another poster received replies and comments using language and attacks that you surely would have found offensive had i made them, but you supported them instead. You read the low ball flaming comments, but i have yet to hear you address any of them directly. You never have in the past and surely you won;t now, Because you've called out for the hypocritical pompous ass you are,
You had the opportunity to address those comments when they were made, but you chose not too because they suited you. You liked the flamers as long as they attack those who you dislike, That is clear, and was clear as I watched your actions and reactions along the way, You are nothing but a phony ass hypocrite, that preaches high and mighty virtue, but really means only for those you agree with, But criticize the ducks, or question how good they are relative to others like alabama, or fsu this year, or question how great mariota truly is versus his peers,, and, oh no,, attacks on those who do that are not only welcomed, but applauded.
Really,, your website was a wasteland, dead for most of the time,, and it was users like me that kept it alive,,but instead of a fair approach you only show your biased hypocrisy. I will not be adding any more to your website, even though it is those like me that actually tried to keep it from becoming nothing but mutual admiration society of duck cheerleaders. Oh well, its just a web blog that users give meaning to. But it its made your head big. You lost all credibility and respect with me. You are a fraud whose hubris and sanctimoniousness is laughable. By the way, someday i might tell you what i really think!!l...lololol!!
@nyduck @Dale Newton @lexusduck Like every other poster here I'm free to like, respond or ignore anything else that's written here. I make a effort to keep the conversation civil and above the belt, and I repeatedly find myself having to censure you for remarks and tactics that have no place in a reasonable discussion.
It's fine to disagree. Sports is a place where there are strong opinions. But you have to learn to do so with some fundamental decency, please.
I'd appreciate an example.. In regards to me and duckbill , and I'd like to think he feels the same way, but in my opinion our arguments have ALWAYS been civil, a battle of opinions based on what we view as fact for Oregon football. He's never insulted me nor I him. I've always felt that we keep it pretty low key in terms of hostility. You on the other hand, are an entirely different story.
@Mahunashizzle enough of the passive agressiveness ,, your posts have plenty of personal invectives ,, especially to duckbill,, thats all im gonna say on that.
Nyduck I never attacked you, kept it civil, and responded to your posts with responses based on statistics and commonly held themes throughout college football. And you responded by repeatedly calling me a child.. How exactly can you be the victim of a double standard?
@Dale Newton @lexusduck thats what happens when you operate with a double standard, one for those whose opinions and sides you like, and allow to get away with personal attacks, vindictives, foul language, and ad hominen garbage talk, and those whose opinions you dislike and blame for responding to the morons and idiots that reply in that way, Take responsibility you have been 'liking' there comments and sending the message to everyone that you have a double standard, Its fine to attack with base language, calling names, etc , against those whose opinions you obviously not only disagree with, but do not respect - but when we reply back to it- after you have supported it by liking it or by tacitly sending friendly signals in reply - you blame those of us who were attacked as being responsible. Time to take a long look into your own mirror. Go back and reread the threads if you are having trouble figuring it out.
@lexusduck @Dale Newton I don't mind differing opinions at all. But the name-calling, flaming and rudeness has got to stop. The comments section here has been a great place for ideas and discussion, but over the last few days, and in particularly in this thread, it's deteriorating into the kind of pissing match I utterly hate.
@Dale Newton We appreciate the work. This is our place to vent. We are unblemished and there is a lot on the line this year. I expect it to only become more heated on here as time goes on and that's a good thing! It's just opinion vs. opinion we all need to remind ourselves sometimes.
